About Dianne Berryhill
Dianne Berryhill
was
born and grew up in an all American family who believed in service to
our country in both the military and civilian sectors. As a daughter
of a WWII veteran and a WOW (Women Ordnance Worker), God and
Patriotism were one in the same for her family. She grew up in
Arkansas, the state that is known as the "Land of Opportunity". Every
day as a child on every car tag she could read that motto and knew
that in America anything was possible. Entrepreneurship is a trademark
of her family reaching back several generations. Dianne moved to
Tallahassee in 1988 with her husband Don and five children. Florida
became home with its beautiful beaches and the lush forests.
Dianne received her Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from
Christian Brothers University She also is a Certified Public Manager
and a Certified Networker Trainer. She studied at Memphis State
University in the field of Interior Design and worked for four years
under a Master Designer. Mrs. Berryhill has been a small business
owner, worked in the private sector for large corporations and the
public sector in the field of accounting.
"Less government in our day to day lives and less spending must be at
the forefront of our mission to return America to her people," Dianne
says. "It is imperative that the Constitution be our guiding
document." Constitution education in our schools and communities is an
utmost priority for Mrs. Berryhill spurring her to lead projects that
provided copies of the Constitution and other materials to students in
both Leon and Wakulla counties, and to offer community forums for
constitution classes. Dianne is very proud to be a member of the
Caroline Brevard Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution,
giving her a stronger connection to the most important historical
event of our country.
Dianne Berryhill knows that we must preserve the freedoms of our
country and that to remain a secure country we must be a fiscally
sound country. Dianne believes that in the Four Freedoms speech, the
most important of all of the freedoms is the Freedom From Fear.
Without that one, the other three cannot exist. Safety and security
were normal in Dianne's family and something that she believes every
baby born in American should have as its birthright. "National
Security should be the first concern of our government and will be
mine as a Congresswoman," says Dianne. While all of Dianne's children
have provided their family with moments of pride, one of the proudest
was watching her son, CPL Hunter Berryhill, graduate from Marine boot
camp at Parrish Island. The Berryhill family knows firsthand the
concerns of having a child who is deployed to Iraq and during this
campaign they will share the concerns of so many families who have a
son or daughter deployed to Afghanistan.
As a political activist, Mrs. Berryhill worked tirelessly for
candidates like Marco Rubio and organized conservative groups to
ensure that real conservative candidates would be elected. As a
community activist, she has worked with the American Heart
Association, Regional Child Abuse Prevention Programs, Episcopal Youth
Program, Good Government Group, Officer for the Desoto Trails PTO
Board, contributing reporter for employer's publications, Kids Voting
judge, Cub Scout Den Mother, member of Blue Star Mothers of America,
and Officer for Voice of the People. Mrs. Berryhill feels that when
someone in the community is in need the people of the community, not
the federal government, should answer that call. Dianne is a proud
member of the NRA and a member of the Southern Ladies Tea and Shooting
Society.
Honesty and integrity are hallmarks of the Berryhill family. "Your
word is your bond," is a familiar quote from Dianne. Dianne and Don
have raised five great patriots who appreciate living in this great
country and who are continuing that tradition with four grandchildren.
Preserving our freedoms and ensuring that America remains a superpower
will always remain at the forefront of Dianne's campaign.
